Tambov Governor Alexander Nikitin will pay a visit to Luxembourg this Friday 11 May 2018.

To begin his visit, Alexander Nikitin will be received by the Luxembourg Prime Minister and Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, for an interview at Senningen Castle. The exchange will focus on relations between Luxembourg and the Tambov region.

On this occasion, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Victor Sorokin, will hand over to Prime Minister Xavier Bettel the copies of the personal files of the forced conscripts who were forced to serve in the German army during World War II and prisoners in Russia at the end of the war. Indeed, an agreement was signed between Luxembourg and the Russian Military Archives to obtain these copies during the displacement of Xavier Bettel in Tambov in October 2017.

In the afternoon, Xavier Bettel and Alexandre Nikitin, accompanied by a delegation of former conscripted members of the Amicale de Tambov, will lay a wreath at the Bonnevoie cemetery in memory of the victims of the Second World War.

In addition, the governor of Tambov and his delegation will attend a seminar at the Chamber of Commerce. This seminar will enable the Tambov delegation to present new business and economic opportunities to Luxembourg companies and to get in touch or strengthen their relations with local businesses.
