Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg will make a trip to Lebanon from 29-31 October 2018, as part of her forum on putting an end to sexual violence.

The visit falls within the framework of the forum "Stand Speak Rise Up - End Sexual Violence in Sensitive Areas", organised by the Grand Duchess in Luxembourg for March 2019.

As President of her Foundation, a Goodwill Ambassador of Unesco and Eminent advocate for Unicef, HRH will visit survivors of sexual violence, namely refugees and displaced persons, in a refugee camp, a hospiral and a safe house in Lebanon to gather their testimonies and support them in their quest for justice. She will also learn about microfinance projects to improve the situation of refugees.

Moreover, HRH the Grand Duchess will take advantage of her visit to learn about the various NGOs she intends to support in the future through her foundation.

Lebanon is one of the countries most affected by the Syrian crisis with the number of displaced persons or refugees making up one-quarter of the total population.
