On 2 July 2018, Lycée Ermesinde was announced as the winners of the first edition of The Entrepreneurial School organised by Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg.

The Entrepreneurial School was launched by the Commission's DG Enterprise in 2012 as entrepreneurial education is put forward as a promising development vector in schools.

At a national level, The Entrepreneurial School project was first introduced to the Luxembourgish educational system Luxembourg in November 2016. Since then, four different high schools have adopted a "entrepreneurial" profile and developed different pedagogical concepts that were introduced during the 2017-2018 school year.

Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg then also organized a new annual national contest "The Entrepreneurial School Awards (TES-Awards)" to encourage schools to develop their range of entrepreneurial initiatives for students. The European TES Award competition was launched in 2015 and this will enable a Luxembourg high school to compete.

Five schools entered the competition: Lycée technique de Bonnevoie, Lycée Ermesinde, Lycée technique de Lallange, l'Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion and l'Ecole Privée Marie-Consolatrice.

The five schools each submitted a application which was judged by a jury made up of representatives from educational and economic sectors. The award ceremony was held at the Chamber of Commerce where Mr. Carlo Thelen welcomed the participants.

A round of discussions then took place between Mr. Claude Meisch, Minister of National Education, Childhood and Youth, Ms. Francine Closener, Secretary of State for the Economy, Mrs. Sarah Desplat, management attachée at the Lycée technique de Lallange, Mrs. Pascale Strauss, Deputy Director of the Lycée Technique de Bonnevoie, M.Serge Lucas, director of the Ecole Privée Marie-Consolatrice, Robert Theisen, director's attachée at the Lycée Ermesinde and Mr. Joseph Britz, Director of the l'Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion.

Lycée Ermesinde is the first winner of this competition and will be go on to represent Luxembourg at European competition to be held on 7 November in Vienna.

For this first edition, three other prizes were awarded:
