St George's Student at Scychelles debating event;

This week, the Trust for Sustainable Living International Debates is being held in the Seychelles; from Luxembourg, Wendi Roberts, an APL at St George’s International School, is there with some students.

The education, environment, tourism and finance ministers of the Seychelles all attended the opening of the conference.

On Tuesday 3 July, the primary debates were held. A 9 year-old student from St George’s won one of the three judges’ commendation medals for her debating. She has been chosen as an ambassador for the primary section of the debate during the children’s ocean conference on Thursday (one of only four) and has received her finalist certificate.

Wendi Roberts said "We have talked about being a landlocked country but still wanting to play our part in saving the world’s oceans."

They return to Luxembourg on Sunday.
