On Wednesday 26 September 2018 at 17:30, St George’s International School will be hosting its very first "Sowing Selfless Seeds" event, a charitable occasion that inspires acts of kindness.

During this event the School will be introducing three inspirational guest speakers; Nimesh Patel, better known as Nimo, Princess Tessy of Luxembourg and St George’s Alumni, Georgios Stefanos Pnevmatikakis.

Nimo, a renowned humanitarian and soulful hip-hop musician will be kicking the event off by a ‘TEDx type’ talk focusing on values dear to us all: compassion, gratitude and universal love. Nimo, has released a new genre of hip-hop that encompasses his values, he will be sharing these inspiring songs and stories from his well-known Empty Hands Music.

Tessy Antony, Princess of Luxembourg, will be giving a talk on gratitude and appreciation. Tessy will talk about her involvement in charities and NGOs, specifically the charity she co-founded ‘Professors Without Borders’, a social enterprise that specialises in university education that aims to bridge the educational divide between countries as well as between students and their teachers.

St George’s will also be welcoming back one of its alumni, Georgios Stefanos, who used to be head coach and part of the Special Olympics Luxembourg basketball team. The Special Olympics Luxembourg creates opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities of all ages to have fun and be part of a team sport. Georgios is also a Full-Stack developer, aiming to use technological progression to improve people’s experience in their everyday.

This event aims to inspire goodness and help people see how simple acts of selflessness can impact the world in such a positive way. In the run up to this event St George’s students will be taking part in a 21 Day Challenge of Random Acts of Kindness.

The Sowing Selfless Seeds event is open to the public and is free of charge, there will be a collection box for each of the charities on the door, should attendees wish to give a donation. To reserve a seat, see https://www.st-georges.lu/page.cfm?p=2148
