This coming week-end, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 June 2018, Walferdange Rugby Club will host their 13th annual Beach Rugby Challenge, the Challenge Nicole Carré, at the Stadium Prince Henri in Walferdange.

Played on sand, the participating teams (both male and female) will see 5 players per side playing barefoot in intense games lasting just 7 minutes each.

Will the RCL seniors, Walferdange women and Stade Sarrois retain their titles? Will participants break last year's food and beverage consumption records?

A dozen men's teams and a number of women's and junior teams from the different rugby clubs of the Grand Duchy, as well as some from France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands will compete throughout the day in three tournaments (men's, women's and youth's) and will try to win the tournament.

The spectators - 500+ supported the 2017 edition - can also enjoy the various food stands and activities planned for children.

Last year the tournament was a great success with 4 junior teams, 6 women's teams and 7 senior teams. The children of the rugby school also took to the field during the breaks of the official tournament and offered a demonstration of their skills. Following this experience, a second day was added to the event, with Sunday 3 June focussing on children during a tournament for Luxembourgish rugby schools will be held.
