On Wednesday evening, while many were watching the FIFA World Cup Semi-Final, KPMG defeated Buvette & Co to win the other major event of the evening, the Touch Rugby Corporate League.

The winners had battled to beat 11 other teams to reach the top of the league over the last 9 weeks. This year, teams were entered from a diverse range of organisations, such as Fundrock, Aperam, Aztec, BBH, Amazon, Clearstream, St Georges School, ING, JPMorgan as well as the all-ladies team ‘No Woman No Try’.
From beginners to seasoned player, from 12 to 55 years old, ladies and men, all have enjoyed a relaxed social environment hosted by the Rugby Club de Luxembourg at Cessange, with beers and BBQ during the evenings.

Most of these teams will also be playing in the Kick Cancer into Touch Tournament to raise money for Cancer research on 25 August 2018 at the Stade Boy Konen in Cessange - this is being held as part of the Aztec 10s Festival of Rugby Tournament, sure to be great fun where money is raised for Charity.

Touch Luxembourg is associated with the Rugby Club de Luxembourg (RCL). It is a new sport originating in the 1960s as a non-contact form of Rugby league. It is a 6-a-side game with rolling substitutions played on a half-size rugby pitch. Because the game is not based on physical contact, but on speed, skill and strategy, it is played by both sexes, and very often in mixed teams. Luxembourg Touch organises regular Tuesday night training and game sessions at Stade Michel Wagner in Weimerskirch - further details from email: luxembourgtouch@gmail.com
