The launch of the Luxembourg GovSat-1 Satellite in Florida has been postponed until Wednesday 31 January 2018.

Due to a technical problem (faulty sensor on SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket) combined with poor weather conditions in Cape Canaveral (sun, but too much wind), it was decided to postpone the launch of GovSat-1 satellite to tomorrow evening.

The firing window opens at 22:25 (Luxembourg time) to take a new momentum to put the satellite into orbit from the firing point in Florida. The launch will be transmitted live on www.spacex.com. The launch was originally scheduled for this evening.

HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and HRH the Hereditary Grand Duchess, accompanied by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Deputy Prime Minister Étienne Schneider, are currently in the United States to witness the launch of the satellite from the Cape Canaveral launch pad in Florida.
