Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has issued a statement that, as a result of the presence of glass fragments discovered in jars of bio fig jam, the projetc has been recalled from sale.
The specific product, "Pur Natur 450 g figs organic", was identified via the european Commission's Rapid Alert System for Food. The alert concerns the product this has been distributed in Luxembourg through Colruyt stores.
While the product has been withdrawn from sale, a portion has been sold to the final consumer. As a result, the Luxembourg food safety authorities have advised consumers not to consume the product entitled "Pur Natur confiture de figues bio" which is sold in 450g containers with a consume-by date of 12/09/2017; Lot #: X344; Sales period: 12.2015-03.2016; Origin: Belgium.
Only products with the durability date and lot number indicated are concerned. All other products are not affected.
