The Fédération Luxembourgeoise des Associations de Sport de Santé (FLASS) is organising its first Matinee of Health Sport on Saturday 10 March 2018 at the amphitheatre of the CHL, between 09:00-13:00.

On this morning event dedicated to health and sport, speakers will explain the benefits of physical activity on the health of people with chronic diseases. They will also present the available offer for therapeutic physical activity in Luxembourg. Currently, more than 70 hours of therapeutic physical activity are offered each week.

Finally, the morning will be closed by a round table with the participation of the Minister of Sports Romain Schneider and the Director of Health Dr. Jean-Claude Schmit.

The FLASS was created in 2016 from the network developed since 2013 as part of Sport-Santé, an initiative supported since 2013 by the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. Its purpose is to bring together organisations that offer therapeutic physical activities, continue the development of the concept of "Health Sport", promote physical activities in this field, support the training of instructors, value the member associations, and represent them before the public authorities.

The event co-organiser Luxembourgish Academy of Sports Medicine, Sports Physiotherapy and Sports Science is composed of LIH's Sport Medicine Research Laboratory (SMRL), the Luxembourg Society of Sports Physiotherapy(SLKS), the Luxembourgish Sports, Medicine Society (SLMS), the Luxembourg Society of Research in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine (SLROMS) and collaborates with the Sports Clinic of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL).
