STEP Benelux has announced details of a STEP BeNeLux cocktail presentation being held on Thursday, 22 October 2015 at 18:00 at the offices of Maitland (58 rue Charles Martel, L-2134 Luxembourg).
The presentation on “The Common Reporting Standard: Update on its Status and Insights into its Impact" will be presented by given by Andrew Knight, Partner at M Partners (member of the Maitland network).
Andrew Knight has 25 years’ professional experience including international tax and wealth structuring. He has been extensively involved with FATCA and the CRS since their introduction, both on the technical aspects and practical implications. He holds a BComm LLB (Stellenbosch University), and an LLM (Cambridge). Andrew is admitted to practice as a Solicitor and a South African Attorney and is on List IV of the Luxembourg Bar. He is a member of STEP.
CONTENT: : In addition to a reminder of what the CRS will involve, topics covered will include:
• the impact of staggered implementation
• the possibility of selective country reporting
• on-going uncertainties regarding the impact on Trusts
• how the US fits into the CRS
• the practicalities of implementation for financial institutions.
Attendees shall be meeting from 18:00 with the presentation to start promptly at 18:30 and to be followed by refreshments and networking.
