On Friday morning, Luxembourg's Julien Henx sprinted over 50 metres freestyle in 22.98 seconds and finished 52nd out of 118 starters on his second race of this Swimming World Championships in Hungary.

"I had a good feeling at the start and the race, I really thought it was faster," he said after the race. "Nevertheless, I am satisfied, I could establish myself stable in this season under 23 seconds."

At the end of the preliminaries, Monique Olivier started her third World Championship race in a time of 8:54.27. The 19-year-old could not get near her best time 8:45.37 for the 800m freestyle. In the future, she has decided to focus more on the 400 and 200 metres freestyle.

On Saturday, Julie Meynen will rce over 50m freestyle and the 4x100 metres individual medley.
