Hungarian swimming champion Katinka Hosszu has confirmed her attendance at the 20th Euro Meet to be held from 26 to 28 January 2018 in Luxembourg.

The strong Hungarian team will feature World and European champion Katinka Hosszu and Peter Bernek, who won the 400m individual medley and earned silver at the 400m freestyle in Copenhagen. Other entries include Dominik Kozma who came sixth in the 100 freestyle and Evelyn Verraszto, silver medallist in the 200m individual medley.

Hungary has always dominated European medley races, as there are many fine swimmers like Laszlo Cseh and Zsuzsanna Jakabos who already attended the Euro Meet in the past. Indeed, Hosszu’s major medal count is impressive in itself: she has won 81 international medals at Olympic Games and World and European Championships since 2004.

Hosszu’s best result was at the 2016 Olympics in Rio with three gold medals (100m backstroke, 200m and 400m individual medley). She won also the two IM finals at the World Championships 2017 last July in front of her home crowd in Budapest and earned no less than six titles out of six finals in Copenhagen in the three backstroke races and the three individual medley races.
