Brazil’s Bruno Fratus and Japan’s Shinri Shioura at the 20thEuro Meet to be held 26.-28.01.2018 in Luxembourg.

In recent years, the Euro Meet never had the chance to welcome non-European champions, but for the 20th edition, Brazil and Japan will be represented by two great swimmers, Bruno Fratus and Shinri Shioura.

Bruno Fratus, born in Macaé in the State of Rio de Janeiro, lives and trains in Aubrun, Alabama, USA. He is a pure freestyle sprinter, winning the silver medal of the 50m freestyle at the 2017 World Championships- he won already the bronze two years earlier in 2015 in Kazan.

Shinri Shioura, born in Isehara, is also well known at top world level for his results at the 50m and 100m freetstyle. His best achievement was a 100m freestyle silver medal at the short course World Championships 2016 in Windsor. He tallied also several silvers at the Asian Games.

The men’s sprint freestyle races will be a thriller at the 2018 Euro Meet, as other reputed sprinters are attending: Andrii Govorov from Ukraine (5th at the Olympic Games), Ben Proud from Great Britain (bronze medallist at the 2017 World Championships, and world champion at the 50m butterfly), Jesse Puts from the Netherlands (short course world champion 2016), Dominik Kozma from Hungary and Duncan Scott, also from Great Britain.
