At the Irish Open Swimming Championships, held from 4 to 8 April 2018 in Dublin, Luxembourg swimmer Monique Olivier once again set a new national record in the 200 metres freestyle race.

With a time of 2 01.87 minutes, the 19-year-old improved her first set in Edinburgh a month ago by 0.84 seconds, thus replacing Christine Mailliet as a record holder (both having previously held the former record of 2:02.71).

Over the 100-metre distance, the Luxembourg swimmer also set a new best time of 58.00 seconds.

Meanwhile, fellow swimmer Raphael Stacchiotti was also in action last weekend. The 26-year-old swam the 100 metres freestyle in 52.45 seconds at the Swim Open in Stockholm. His main focus is the Eindhoven Swim Cup, taking place from 12-15 April 2018.
