Luxembourg swimmers are preparing themselves for a number of competitions scheduled for the coming months.

The Luxembourg elite swimmers will compete this year in both the European Championships in Glasgow from 1-9 August and the Short Track World Championships from 11-16 August. Meanwhile, the best junior swimmers will be representing the Grand Duchy colours at the Junior European Championships in Helsinki from 4- 8 July and the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires from 7-12 October.

Raphaël Stacchiotti (SCDE), Julien Henx (CNDu), Julie Meynen (SCDE) and Monique Olivier (SL) qualified for the continental championship in the Scottish port of Glasgow at the 2017 World Cup in Budapest and improved their times during the season. Furthermore, at the beginning of December, the swimming elite traditionally meets on the 25-meter track. This year, Hangzhou, the Chinese provincial capital, will be hosting the "14th FINA World Swimming Championships" from 11-16 December. Four athletes - Julien Henx, Raphaël Stacchiotti, Pit Brandenburger and Monique Olivier - have already reached the World Swimming Federation's B-Standard.

Moreover, a FLNS trio has qualified to date for the European Junior Championships in Helsinki. Rémi Fabiani (SCD) remained well below the average time (2:09.48) in the 200m backstroke with 2:07.84 last weekend in Charleroi and, in the breaststroke, Yann Van Den Bossche (SL) secured the ticket over 50m (29.92) in Edinburgh at the beginning of March and in the middle of April at the Swim Festival in Bergen more than 100m (1:05.93).
