A Luxembourg team of swimmers will compete in the 130th German Open Championships in Berlin from 18-22 July 2018 and in the.

Led by elite swimmers Raphael Stacchiotti, Pit Brandenburger, Julie Meynen and Monique Olivier, a team of thirteen athletes will represent the Grand Duchy in Berlin later this week, whilst younger swimmers will compete in the Youth Championships in Rennes.

For Raphaël Stacchiotti and Monique Olivier, this is the opportunity for a final test as to their form before the European Championships, taking place from 3-9 August, whilst for Pit Brandenburger, this is an intermediate step in his journey to the Samara Military World Championships, held from 16-22 August. Meanwhile, Julie Meynen will close her season in Berlin before returning to Auburn in early August. For the juniors, namely Yann Van Den Bossche, Stephan Vanderschrick, Bob Sauber, Jacques Schmitz and Rémi Fabian, this competition is the occasion to test their form for the "Youth Olympic Games" which will be held in Buenos Aires in October.

Luxembourg will similarly be represented by Lou Jominet, Emma Peters and João Carneiro at the Youth Championships in Rennes, which already started today. Like their colleagues, they will benefit from these high-level events to position themselves against the French elite.
