Luxembourg's Mandy Minella (29, ranked #216) has won her match in the 2nd round of qualifying in the Women's Singles Championship at the Vancouver ITF tennis tournament in Canada.

Following her first-found defeat of Xinyun Han (China), she progressed with a second win, this time over Lyudmyla Kichenok (#295) of Ukraine, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. However, in the last qualifying round to determine the four to go through to the main draw of 32, she lost against 6th seed, 26 year-old Shuai Zhang (China), 6-3, 6-3, who is unranked.

Meanwhile, in the Ladies Doubles championship, the draw has changed and she is now to play alongside Lyudmyla Kichenok (Ukraine); in the first round of the main draw they are up against Xinyun Han (China) and Varatchava Wongteanchai (Thailand).
