Meanwhile, in the women's singles qualifying rounds last week, Luxembourg's Mandy Minella (ranked #223) defeated Stefanie Voegele (Switzerland, ranked #129, the 29th seed) 6-2, 7-5 in the first round. In the second round she succumbed 6-2, 6-3 against Shelby Rogers (USA, ranked #154). However, she will play alongside Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm (ranked #148) in the Ladies Doubles where, in the first round, they will be up against 8th seeds Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro (both ESP).
