Winning team Jacob's Crackers lead by Lynda Jacob with BLC Chair, Jugera Ibrihimi, and BLC events organiser, Tina Radford;

On Saturday 3 March 2018, the British Ladies Club (BLC) held their annual quiz night at the Alvisse Parc hotel in Luxembourg-Dommeldange.

Nearly 90 attendees turned up for a fun quiz event with members bringing their partners and friends to enjoy the evening. The Alvisse Parc Hotel provided a lovely fish and chip supper in one of their spacious rooms.

Thanks to the evening's quiz master, Geoff Thompson, who prepared the challenging quiz covering various topics that had the teams still talking about the answers long after the quiz was over, and also to his daughter Alexandra who kindly came to mark the answers - with 10 rounds of questions and 14 teams she was kept very busy throughout the evening.

The eventual winners were the ladies of "Jacob’s Crackers" lead by Lynda Jacob who took the home the quiz winners' cup and a bottle of crémant each. Well done to second placed team "Google it" and third placed "Ask Siri" who of course were not able to do either during the evening!

The BLC also held a tombola and raised a fantastic €785 for its chosen charities, Parkinson’s Luxembourg and Maggie’s Centres in the UK. The organisers thanked everyone for buying tickets and also conveyed a special thanks to those who donated prizes for our tombola: Home from Home, the expat shop in Strassen for a wonderful hamper; Naturata, for a fabulous hamper and gift vouchers; Alvisse Parc Hotel, for a voucher for lunch for two; Restaurant GairolaZ Ayurvedic Indian Kitchen in Ellange, for a meal voucher and Bernard Massard for bottles of crémant.

All attending had a wonderful evening and are very much looking forward to next year’s quiz already, when the organisers hope the winning team will come back to defend their title.
