Following the success of a previous Open Doors event for the new water tower in the Ban de Gasperich, the Ville de Luxembourg is once again opening it up to the public.

The water tower be open the weekend of 8 and 9 September 2018 from 10:00 to 16:00 each day. Guided visits will start every 15 minutes and last around 90 minutes in total. The Water Department will make these visits available in Luxembourgish, German, French and German sign-language.

At a height of 68.43m and with a total capacity of 1,000 m3, this water tower construction meets all requirements and all the technological standards in terms of quality and water supply whilst presenting a modern architecture and unusual, with its concrete facade, its white aluminum panels, its adjustable LED lighting and panoramic terrace with views of the city.

During the guided tour that will pass through the 11 floors of the tower, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the technical specifications and the functioning of the water tower, but will also receive valuable information about water in general including the water cycle, the quality and consumption of water, the pipe systems and wastewater management.

The public will also discover all the projects being introduced for the architectural competitions for the construction of the water tower in Gasperich and Kirchberg, a project this is scheduled to start in 2019 and end in 2021.
