Nuit des Lampions;

Cooperations in Wiltz has announced details of the 11th Nuit des Lampions (Night of the Lanterns) which takes place this Saturday 22 September 2018.

From the Wiltz Garden to Grand-Rue via the amphitheatre, hundreds of light installations, all hand-made, will light up for one night. The colourful lanterns with classical motifs and also in the shape of a dragon, turn Wiltz into a magical and ephemeral fairy place for one night in September.

The light show attracts over 10,000 visitors each year since its creation as part of the European Capital of Culture in 2007. The festival has become one of the key events of the cultural agenda in Luxembourg and benefits from a popularity also beyond borders.

Light, source of magic: Unique atmosphere guaranteed!

The magic atmosphere of the Nuit des Lampions arises especially through the bustle and actions throughout the city centre: art installations, theatre, dance, acrobatics and circus performances, magic shows and fire, light shows and dozens of culinary options will drive the darkness away.

Highly anticipated will be "The Red Giraffes" of the Off Company (France), but also the so-called operetta-animal is fascinating: A herd of giant creatures that will pace their way in slow motion through the crowd. Wiltz becomes the scene of a magenta ballet led by giant giraffe necks. On the Grande-Rue, a Bodega bar and a Béierstuff will accompany the Bluebird sessions with jazz, blues and the singer-songwriter scene to create other very strong moments on the Night of the Lampions.
