Luxembourg's annual travel fair, Vakanz, is being held at Luxexpo The Box in Luxembourg-Kirchberg on 18, 19 and 20 January for the 28th time.
An unmissable event in the Greater Region, Vakanz brings together some 200 travel specialists over three days and at one place. Thousands of destinations and packages will be offered over a 17,000m² exhibition area. Travel agencies, tour operators, family hotels and hotel chains, cruise lines, airlines, etc., will be on hand to present current trends, classic holidays and unusual destinations.
Many exhibitors will be offering top destinations, thematic journeys, launches, special prices and events.
Fitcation: a healthy mind in a healthy body
“This year, we are focusing on the theme of active holidays and more particularly on the "Fitcation" trend, i.e. activity breaks, combining sport and well-being. In addition to their usual ranges, our exhibitors have therefore drawn up exclusive concepts that will allow visitors to try out new activities and to relax. The fair opens its doors on Friday at 2pm and will run until Sunday at 7pm", announced Morgan Gromy, CEO of Luxexpo The Box.
A major trend in 2019, alternating somewhat sports-type activities, cultural discoveries and long periods of relaxation as part of the same holiday, meets the expectations of all holidaymakers. Whether you are going as a family, a couple, alone or with a group of friends, choosing a “fitcation" formula allows you to recharge your body and mind. Let yourself be tempted to try out a new activity - Canyoning, stand-up paddle, cross country mountain biking, climbing, rafting, diving - before indulging in a well-deserved session of lazing about.

Each of the three exhibition halls will be designed around the chosen theme, each with a catering, festive and fun offering. The decoration will give pride of place to travel and dreams so a change of scenery is guaranteed. The universes and themes are complementary and designed to satisfy the expectations of all the generations:
- NEW BALANCE is the space dedicated to the "sporting moment" of your stay and to thrills: come and face the waves of the Kitesurf simulator installed at the heart of the platform, we promise you fine weather conditions! In parallel, the restaurant, in line with the theme of the hall, will satisfy both small and large appetites with a range of à la carte health food products.
- L’OASIS is the Vakanz "cultural discovery" space. Stroll through an oriental-inspired market. The L’OASIS universe is brimming with specialities and culinary treasures and invites you to taste them in a cosy atmosphere. The attached restaurant welcomes you with a menu of oriental flavours.
- WHITE BEACH CLUB is dedicated to "the moment of relaxation". Sitting on a deckchair in the front row of a wonderful sea, a breath-taking view! Fine sand, summer atmosphere, the decor looking like a postcard provides you with a moment of relaxation. Everything is ready to pamper you; massage sessions, exotic cocktails and a chic restaurant.

All future holidaymakers are invited to celebrate the new year on Friday 18 January from 17:30pm. A friendly and cheerful evening hosted by the saxophonist Fred Hermain accompanied by DJs Toni & Schmisi. Open bar from 18:00 - 19:00, in presence of Fox Beer and Leopard Drinks, with finger food, drinks (soft drinks, beer, sparkling wines, cocktails and natural refreshing drinks).
