Luxembourg’s Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has announced that the third edition of the YEP!-Schoulfoire (school fair) will be held in the halls of Luxexpo in Luxembourg-Kirchberg from Sunday 21 to Wednesday 24 April 2024.

This education fair is aimed at students in cycle 4 of primary education, the last year of primary school for international schools and secondary school students. It is also aimed at their parents and education professionals.

The different facets of the Luxembourg public school system are presented at the YEP!- Schoulfoire, which is not a platform for educational and professional guidance, bringing together hundreds of experts in the field, and a place to discover new things. Hundreds of interactive workshops will be available during the fair.

For the first time, the YEP!-Schoulfoire starts on a Sunday this year, on 21 April from 14:00 to 18:00 to allow families to enjoy an informative afternoon full of discoveries. The afternoon of Tuesday 23 April 23, from 14:00 to 19:00 is also intended for the general public. The days of 22, 24 and the morning of 23 April are reserved for school classes registered at the Schoulfoire.

On a total surface area of 17,000 m2 spread over three halls of the Luxexpo, the YEP!-Schoulfoire is based on six pillars, namely: Luxembourg’s Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the guidance centre and school offerings (Maison de l’Orientation) including specialists in the education system will be present on-site. While the main stand is hosted by representatives of the guidance centre and different ministerial departments, the School Integration and Welcoming Service (SIA), the Service national de l’éducation inclusive (National Service for Inclusive Education - SNEI) and the Psychosocial and School Support Center (CePAS) will be present with their own information stands, as will the national students' conference (Conférence Nationale des Élèves du Luxembourg - CNEL). 45 secondary and primary schools will be present at the YEP!-Schoulfoire, as well. Furthermore, nearly 500 participatory activities, workshops and shows will be spread over four days and await visitors.

The sections and training will be divided into nine professional “universes”, with workshops and demonstrations led by professionals, namely:

  • construction, production and creation;
  • science, technology and computing;
  • nature and environment;
  • school, education and society;
  • industry and mechanics;
  • tourism, gastronomy and hospitality;
  • art, culture and languages;
  • economy, finance and sales;
  • health and aesthetics.

On the morning of 22 April, companies looking for apprentices and apprentices looking for apprenticeship positions will be able to meet for a live match. This is an event organised in partnership with professional chambers, the ADEM and RTL.

The Schoulfoire will provide the framework for the LuxSkills national professional championships in eleven areas. The awards ceremony for these championships, which takes place every two years, will take place on 24 April at 16:30.
