Yannis Bastian on Hummingbird Highway, Belize;

B:loft has announced that it is organising a Slideshow Night with Yannis Bastian, a Luxembourg-based adventurer, at the Rotondes in Luxembourg/Bonnevoie on Saturday 17 March 2018 at 19:00.
The event is designed not only for bicycle enthusiasts, but also for adventure lovers.

In September 2014, 30-year old Yannis Bastian set off from his home town Berbourg, a small village in eastern Luxembourg, to cycle around the world. The passion for travelling and moving at his own pace – rather than the athletic challenge – made Yannis chose the bicycle to travel around the world. Follow no schedules, don’t study for any tests, attend no meetings; forget about time...

His route led east, from Luxembourg to Turkey, India and Southeast Asia, followed by Australia and New Zealand. After more than a year on the road, Yannis started off the last long leg in Canada, aiming to cycle all the way down to Argentina. In March 2017, he arrived in Ushuaia, the end of the world, where time finally caught up with him. Two weeks later, after 32.187km and 951 days on the road, Yannis finished his around-the-world bicycle trip and, as his brother’s best man, he made it to the wedding – just in time.

Following the presentation, Betty Buvette will serve a special menu. Tickets are available only at www.rotondes.lu.

After a filling meal, the public is invited to a B:Night Ride. This will be a short (ca. 8km) urban bike ride suitable for everyone. The guide will take participants along bicycle paths and calm roads in search of charming views of Luxembourg-ville by night. No reservation needed.

On top of that, B:Loft will open Bike Repair Cafe where a professional bike mechanic will provide minor repairs and advice for free. Everyone is welcome to bring their bike if it needs a small fix or a general check-up. Inside the venue, there will be stands run byLVI - Lëtzebuerger Vëlos-Initiativ and Fondation Kriibskrank Kanner.
