Following Friday's decision of the CFL cargo Board of Directors, Laurence ZENNER has been appointed CEO of CFL cargo, effective 1 January 2018; she will succeed Marc POLINI, who is retiring.

Laurence ZENNER holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Liège (ULg) and has more than 22 years of experience, 18 of which in the rail industry.

She started her career as Research & Development Engineer with a manufacturer of steel buildings and joined the CFL Group in 1999, where she held different responsibilities in the area of fixed installations.

Managing the Infrastructure department from 2012 to 2014, Laurence Zenner was appointed General Secretary in March 2014 and also took over the role of Quality Manager of the CFL Group in April 2016.

Aged 46, Laurence ZENNER is married and has two children.

I am ready to take up this new and great challenge of contributing to the development of the freight activities. I have always been passionate about all aspects of the railway domain and of logistics,” explained the future CEO of CFL cargo.

Marc WENGLER, CEO of CFL Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CFL cargo, expressed his confidence in this decision: “Thanks to her long experience in the rail industry, Laurence will be able to give a new impulse to the activities of CFL cargo, which operates in a highly competitive environment and faces many technological changes.”
