Johan Vanneste, CEO Lux-Airport at the opening of the new car-parking system in 2016;

Lux-Airport's director, Johan Vanneste, is to leave his post to take the reins at Köln / Bonn airport by 1 June this year.

In the position at Lux-Airport since 2014 when he succeeded Fernand Brisbois, Johan Vanneste was previously CEO of VLM Airlines, which was subsequently rebranded as CityJet, which flew the profitable Luxembourg-LondonCity route first incodeshare with, then in competition against, Luxair, before it withdrew from the route.
The announcement was made on Monday by Köln / Bonn airport: Johan Vanneste will replace Michael Garvens who is leaving the position.

The Chairman of the Board at Köln / Bonn airport, Friedrich Merz, stated "We are pleased to have won a highly qualified new Chairman of the Management Board of our airport, Mr. Vanneste. We also expect him to undergo a cultural change in the management of the airport's staff and in communication with the public. We are sure that Johan Vanneste will live up to these expectations in every way. At today's meeting, the Supervisory Board unanimously approved the proposal made by the Executive Committee last Friday to appoint Mr Vanneste as the new Managing Director and Chairman of our Executive Board. Presented as a "highly qualified" CEO, the 57-year-old Belgian is expected to "bring about a cultural change in the management of airport employees and in communication with the public".
