LuxTram crossing the Red Bridge;
LuxTram has announced that the trial / test phase of the tramway on the section "Kirchberg - Etoile" began during the evening of 21 May 2018 with a first passage of a tram across the Red Bridge.
This first crossing took place in good conditions and will continue each night to the Place de l'Etoile.
Full details of the implementation of this new stretch of the LuxTram network - anticipated for next month - are expected to be unveiled on 4 June.
On of the main issues concerning the new stretch of the LuxTram network is that the trams will not be powered by overhead electrical cables; instead, they will be "super-charged" at tram stops, allowing them to travel unencumbered to the next tram stop.
