Lean and Green awards;

On Friday 13 July 2018, CFL logistics, a subsidiary of the CFL multimodal group, was awarded the Lean & Green STAR Label, in the presence of Luxembourg' Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch: CFL logistics had achieved its objective to cut its CO2 emissions by 20% over the past five years.

Lean and Green is an international stimulation programme, which encourages companies and organisations to engage in sustainability measures. This programme has been launched in 2014 by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure in collaboration with the Cluster for Logistics.

CFL logistics aimed at reducing its CO2 emissions by 20% within five years, by realising measures including modal transfer from road to rail, truck routes and loading rates optimisation, fuel consumption reduction and energy efficiency in warehousing infrastructure.

The implementation of these measures led CFL logistics to reduce its CO2 emissions by 22%. The Lean & Green STAR label rewards this achievement.

Barbara Chevalier, Director of Strategy and Business Development for the CFL multimodal Group, drew a positive balance: "The Lean & Green programme enables the CFL multimodal group to position itself as a committed player in sustainable logistics in Luxembourg and Europe. In recent years, the label has been a catalyst for achieving our CO2 reduction goals. It also enabled us to engage our employees in environmental values and sustainable development."
