Around 3,500 visitors are expected to turn up to the 2015 edition of the University of Luxembourg's 'unicareers.lu' job fair, to be held on Friday 2 October 2015.

The event, held under the patronage of the Ministries of Labour, Economy and Higher Education, attempts to create a bridge between the University and the world of business to help prepare students and graduates fr life after studies.

Moovijob, a Luxembourg company and organiser of the 'unicareers.lu' event, has assembled 100 companies and renowned institutions from a range of industries, including steel group ArcelorMittal Luxembourg, the RTLGroup, confectionery manufacturer Ferrero, telecommunications operator Orange and the UBS financial company.

Around 3,500 students, trainees, graduates and young professionals from Luxembourg and the Greater Region are expected to attend the exhibition, which will feature exhibitors from the main sectors of the Grand Duchy: IT; finance and insurance; audit; law; technology; engineering and transport.

Visitors will be able to engage with these business figures, learn more about the companies they represent and apply for an internship, a graduate job, a temporary contract or a first job. In this respect, visitors are able to bypass the first CV barrier and create a personal connection with potential employers.

"Unicareers.lu constitutes a unique opportunity for students looking for a job," explained Eric Tschirhart, Academic Vice-Rector of the University. "The exhibition is part of a range of vocational guidance activities from the Career Service of the University to enhance the employability of students and cooperation with Luxembourg companies".

The exhibition will run from 10:00-17:00 at the LuxExpo in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, with a roundtable on youth employment at 10:30 with the Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy; Nicolas Schmit, Director of ADEM, Isabelle Schlesser; and the heads of Human Resources of several large companies in Luxembourg.
