On Thursday 4 October 2018, the graduation ceremony and awards took place as part of the training leading to the BTS (Brevet de technicien supérieur) in Luxembourg.

During this ceremony, which took place in the large auditorium in the House of Knowledge in the Belval campus, some 220 students were awarded their certificate as a senior technician by Marc Hansen, Minister Delegate for Higher Education and Research.

The laureates came from 23 different training disciplines. In one of these courses, the first diplomas were awarded, namely in "Analytical Chemistry", offered at the Centre's Technical High School.

On the same occasion, a number of particularly deserving students were honoured.

In his address, Marc Hansen emphasised that BTS-style training is a key element in the diversification policy of Luxembourg's higher education landscape. They allow students to acquire not only a highly specialised professional qualification, but also important methodological know-how, which will serve them throughout their working lives.

Since the beginning of the 2018/2019 academic year, five new BTS-type courses have been offered, three of which are offered at the Lycée des Arts et Métiers ('Game Art and Game Design', 'Game Programming and Game Design' and 'Internet of Things'), one at Guillaume Kroll High School ('Cloud Computing') and one at the Hospitality Management School of Luxembourg ('Hospitality Management').
