The Luxembourg Chamber of Trades and the ASTI asbl yesterday signed an agreement in the framework of the "Connections" project.

On 17 May 2018, the Chamber of Trades and ASTI have signed a collaboration agreement as part of the ASTI Connections project. The purpose of this agreement is to carry out joint projects in the field of the integration of applicants and beneficiaries of international protection to make them aware of jobs in the craft industry.

The Connections project, funded by the Oeuvre Grande-Duchesse Charlotte (Mateneen project), aims at preparing applicants and beneficiaries of international protection for the Luxembourg job market through information sessions, seminars, workshops, unpaid internships for 240 hours and orientation for professional training. A liaison book, a portfolio and the official certification of the various modules followed make it possible to document the efforts made by the participants.

By signing this agreement, the Chamber of Trades has agreed to provide a contingent of continuing professional training places to project participants in accordance with its operational constraints. In addition, it is committed to raising the awareness of businesses via its communication channels on the support measures offered to employers, but also to support continuing education efforts.

Thanks to this collaboration allowing the participants to train more, the programme aims to increase their chances of finding a job in Luxembourg in this sector, which is characterised by its durability and reliability through its local and regional rooting, and which thanks to its openness and dynamism, favours the sustainable integration of refugees into Luxembourg society.
