On 29 November 2018, the Federation of Employers submited concrete proposals regarding a new collective agreement in the security sector in Luxembourg.

On the initiative of Luxembourg trade union the LCGB, a negotiation meeting with the Federation of Employers took place last Thursday on the premises of the FEDIL.

At the end of this meeting, the employers had proposed a series of changes, including a 1.1% increase in the salary grid on the first day of the month following the date of the signing of the collective agreement, a 0.5% increase in the salary scale as of 1 January 2021 and an additional obligation to train 1% of the payroll. Further proposals were the inclusion of automatic increases in the minimum social wage in the collective agreement's salary grid after 2019, an increase of the single premium for a marriage or PACS of €75, an increased premium of €10 per day of service (currently €5) for dog handlers and an increased premium for money carriers equal to €1/hour (currently €0.60/hour).

According to the LCGB, employers similarly insisted and conditioned these proposals to fully maintain the required flexibility of employees as currently provided for in the collective labour agreement due to the particularities and requirements of the profession.

In preparation for a new negotiating meeting scheduled for 19 December 2018, the LCGB will consult with its delegates to respond to these proposals.
