The procedures for the upcoming Luxembourg social elections are to be simplified and digitised.

Dan Kersch, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy, and Marco Boly, Director of the Labour and Mining Inspectorate (ITM), today discussed the subject of digitising procedures in the framework of social elections this March.

As of 12 March 2019, companies with at least 15 employees between 1 February 2018 and 31 January 2019 will be required to appoint staff delegates. The novelty of the 2019 social elections is the simplification and digitisation of certain administrative procedures that companies will have to make with the Labour and Mining Inspectorate.

Thus, the companies will have to carry out the following administrative procedures online via the interactive and secure platform of the State, MyGuichet.lu: the opinion of elections concerning the modalities of organisation of social elections, the notice relating to the time limit for the claim against the lists of electors, the communication of data relating to the candidates, the declaration of the results of the electoral operations and the declaration of the duties of the staff delegation.

This process on the MyGuichet.lu platform aims to brings various benefits for companies, such as step by step guidance through the steps with screens that adapt according to the profile of the company, the pre-filling-out of forms thanks to data already stored in MyGuichet.lu and the automatic generation of documents required for the social elections.

For its part, the Labour and Mining Inspectorate is taking advantage of the digitisation of exchanges in order to integrate better quality data more quickly into its information system. It will thus be able to communicate the results of the social elections more effectively.

All other administrative procedures relating to the social elections must be carried out in accordance with the relevant legal provisions or related regulations.

Finally, all information concerning the various steps to be carried out is available on the information portal Guichet.lu: http://www.guichet.lu/elections_sociales as well as on the Labour and Mining Inspectorate website: www.itm.lu.
