This year’s "Cinéma du Sud" film festival will be held from 14 November to 14 December 2017 in various cinemas across Luxembourg.

The project was launched in 2010 to raise public awareness of themes related to development, through the medium of cinema, with the theme of the festival changing every year.

A screening of "Le Chant de la Fleur" is scheduled for 30 November at Ciné Le Paris, Bettembourg. The film documents the struggle of the Sarayaku people in Ecuador to preserve their environment.

Present at the screening will be the film's director Jacques Dochamps, along with Caroline Calmes, Ecological Advisor Betembourg and Dietmar Mirkes from Action Solidarité Tiers Monde.
