On Thursday 8 March 2018, International Women's Day, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and UNICEF will co-host an event, with the support of Movies that Matter Netherlands, in cooperation with the University of Luxembourg at its Campus Limpertsberg (162a Avenue de la Faiencerie, Luxembourg-Limpertsberg).

The event will include the screening of a film about girls' right to education in Afghanistan, entitled "What Tomorrow Brings" by Beth Murphy.

For the fifth consecutive year, the organisers have selected a special film to pay due respect to the rights of women and girls around the world. This year's film focuses on the struggle for girls' access to education in Afghanistan.

Programme

11:45   Welcome with sandwiches and drinks;
12:15   Introduction by H.E. Mr. Schaapveld and Professor Van Dam, Vice-Rector for Doctoral Education and Training, Gender and International Relations;
12:25   Viewing of What Tomorrow Brings;
13:45   Concluding remarks by UNICEF;
14:00   End, coffee and tea available.

Advancing women and girls' rights worldwide is a priority area within Dutch Foreign Policy.
