Details:

On Thursday 15 March 2018, the University of Luxembourg will hold a lunch seminar entitled “The Failure of a Clearinghouse: Empirical Evidence”.

On this occasion, Guillaume Vuillemey (HEC Paris) and the Luxembourg School of Finance will provide the first empirical analysis of the failure of a derivatives clearinghouse: the Caisse de Liquidation in Paris, which defaulted in 1974. The results of their analysis and their conclusions have implications for current debates on the design and resolution of clearinghouses and of other financial institutions.

The event will be held from 12:30 to 13:45 at the Luxembourg School of Finance (JFK Building, 29 Avenue J.F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg) in the Nancy Room on the Ground Floor.
