The University of Luxembourg will host a lecture on the physics of light on 17 May 2018 on its Campus Kirchberg from 1800.
The lecture entitled “Optica fantastica - Images to illuminate the physics of light” will be presented by Sir Michael Berry from the University of Bristol.
Seas sparkle, sunshine generates rainbows, ships make waves. The explanations of these familiar phenomena are as abstract as elsewhere in physics, but pictures are helpful because in light and water waves we can often see what we are talking about. The presentation of Sir Michael Berry will use images to illuminate the physics of light.
Venue: Campus Kirchberg, University of Luxembourg
