The University of Luxembourg has announced a discussion on Reflecting on the Effectiveness of EU Anti-Discrimination Law on Friday 13 July.

EU anti-discrimination legislation has existed since the 1970s in respect of gender equality and since 2000 for the grounds of racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age and sexual orientation. This lecture will reflect upon the strengths and limitations of the individual rights model that characterises EU anti-discrimination law. It will consider options for reform of the legal framework in order to enhance its effectiveness. The event will take place at the Weicker Building at Campus Kirchberg at 12:00.
