For the fourth year in a row, members of the general public of all ages are invited to run, walk or walk around the Philharmonie and Kirchberg parks as part of the RBC Race for the Kids event on Sunday 21 October 2018.

The event, organised by the Luxembourg Red Cross, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and CSL Luxembourg, will be held for the benefit of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapeutic Center. Registration is still possible on site before 10:00 on the day of the race.

In addition to the 5km course, this year a new distance of 10km will be available for confirmed participants. The race will take participants south of the Kirchberg business park to the Klose-Groendchen Park.
 
Also new this year will see Fränk Schleck, former professional cyclist from Luxembourg, and Rob Lilwall, a British adventurer from National Geographic who has covered 80,000km cycling and walking in 28 countries, are the ambassadors of the race and will provide their support and participation on the day of the race. "When you're a top athlete, you have a lot of fans, and a lot of kids and teens have their eyes on you because you're sort of their model. I take this responsibility very seriously," said Frank. "I am honoured to be one of RBC Race for the Kids' ambassadors because I want to help children live their dreams by staying healthy while helping raise funds and awareness as much as possible in aid of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapeutic Centre".
 
Rob Lilwall added "RBC Race for the Kids is helping a wonderful cause, helping young people who are struggling, and supporting their families."

Yan Huberty, Deputy Head of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapeutic Centre stated "For the fourth year, we are very grateful for the donations we receive through the commitment of RBC employees and the RBC Race for the Kids race. This funding is essential to continue supporting youth in need and their families."

Since the first edition of the RBC Race for the Kids race in New York in 2009, it has become a global charity event with races held in 17 cities around the world, including New York, London, Toronto, Chicago, Hong Kong, Minneapolis, Sydney, Luxembourg, Trinidad & Tobago, Vancouver, Kuala Lumpur, Barbados, Ottawa, Calgary, Houston and Jersey, more than €26 million have been raised for various charities supporting children in many countries.

On the day, the village will open from 09:00, with the race starting at 11:00 and finishing by 15:00.

Cost: adults €20, children (7-16 years) €15; U7s free.
