The event, organised by the Luxembourg Red Cross, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and CSL Luxembourg, will be held for the benefit of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapeutic Center. Registration is still possible on site before 10:00 on the day of the race.
Also new this year will see Fränk Schleck, former professional cyclist from Luxembourg, and Rob Lilwall, a British adventurer from National Geographic who has covered 80,000km cycling and walking in 28 countries, are the ambassadors of the race and will provide their support and participation on the day of the race. "When you're a top athlete, you have a lot of fans, and a lot of kids and teens have their eyes on you because you're sort of their model. I take this responsibility very seriously," said Frank. "I am honoured to be one of RBC Race for the Kids' ambassadors because I want to help children live their dreams by staying healthy while helping raise funds and awareness as much as possible in aid of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapeutic Centre".
Rob Lilwall added "RBC Race for the Kids is helping a wonderful cause, helping young people who are struggling, and supporting their families."
Yan Huberty, Deputy Head of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapeutic Centre stated "For the fourth year, we are very grateful for the donations we receive through the commitment of RBC employees and the RBC Race for the Kids race. This funding is essential to continue supporting youth in need and their families."
On the day, the village will open from 09:00, with the race starting at 11:00 and finishing by 15:00.
