The 43rd Christmas Concert of SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde will be held on Thursday 13 December 2018 at the Luxembourg Philharmonie at 20:00.

This year's concert, held in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, will bring together the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of the young yet already renowned Venezuelan-Swiss conductor Domingo Hindoyan and German baritone Samuel Hasselhorn, winner of this year's Queen Elisabeth Competition.

Young Hasselhorn has chosem to interpret several compositions by Gustav Mahler (excerpts from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" and "Sieben Lieder aus letzter Zeit"). The programme will also feature works by Maurice Ravel ("Rapsodie espagnole") and Modeste Moussorgski ("Pictures at an exhibition" arranged by Maurice Ravel).

The proceeds of this charity concert, organised with EY Luxembourg, will be attributed to the development programmes set up by SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde in Senegal. Focusing on childrens' rights, these programmes rely on a collective dynamic and the mobilisation of communities for the protection of the child.

Tickets for the concert cost €30/€45/€65 and are on sale at the Philharmonie box office via tel.: (+352) 26 32 26 32 or at www.philharmonie.lu.
