Details:

The China Chopsticks Business Group in Luxembourg, with the Hurun Report, will organise its annual dinner on Thursday 31 January 2019 from 18:00 at the Alvisse Parc Hotel (120 Route d'Echternach, L-1453 Luxembourg-Dommeldange).

The topic of the event will be "China in a Globalised Economy". Despite the slowdown in the economy, China is spawning more unicorns than anywhere else in the world and boasts more self-made billionaires than anywhere else in the world. How should we understand the opportunities to engage with China in 2019?

Guest speaker Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of the Hurun Report, charting China's Rich List, will highlight the trends behind this growing issue.

Rupert Hoogewerf, 48, born in Luxembourg, is probably the best-known foreigner living in China. Rupert has been researching the Chinese economy since setting up the Hurun Report in 1999. In November 2018, Rupert was appointed by Durham University as a Professor of Practice for his work on promoting entrepreneurship. He is based in Shanghai with his wife and three children and he expanded the Hurun Report operations to Mumbai, India, since 2012.
