Commemoration Day

Details: The program of the day is the following:
In the presence of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke, a religious service will be celebrated at 9.30 pm in the Cathedral by Jean-Claude Hollerich, Archbishop of Luxembourg.
The Te Choir of the Cathedral and the Military Music will ensure a musical program

After the church service, a ceremony will be held at 10.35 hours at the “Monument National de la Solidarité” in Luxembourg. Ambassadors residing in Luxembourg, authorities, members of the Committee for the Memory of the Resistance, the Committee for the Remembrance of forced recruited, representatives of associations of Veterans, and Resistants are invited to attend this ceremony.

Upon his arrival at the Boulevard Roosevelt, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke will be greeted by the Minister of Defence and the Chief of Staff.
On his arrival at "Kanounenhiwel" the Sovereign will lay down flowers at the Monument and revive the flame of remembrance.
Then the Grand Duke will go inside the Monument and sign the guestbook.

After the ceremony at the National Monument of Solidarity around 11.00 hours, flowers will be laid at the Monument of Remembrance by the Minister of Defence and by the City of Luxembourg.

A procession will be formed in front of the Chapel of the Glacis in Limpertsberg around 11.30. The procession, preceded by the Military Music and a detachment of the Army and go to the Hinzert Cross, National Monument of the Resistance and Deportation, where the ceremony will take place at 11.40 hours. The program there is as follows:
Choral Martyrs Luxembourg (Albert Thorn).
Blessing of the grave by Bishop Jean-Claude Hollerich.
Flowers will be laid down by the Chamber of Deputies, the Government of Luxembourg City, the Committee of Remembrance and Resistance Movements.
