Details:

Remich will host the sixth edition of the famous IRONMAN 70.3 sport triathlon held in the Luxembourg-Moselle region from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 June 2018, from Remich.

The event will be held over three days, with IRONGIRL on Friday 15 June at 19:30; this is a 6 km run, perfectly suited for girls/women looking for a real challenge.

IRONKIDS that start on Saturday 16 June at 11:00 and a few thousand athletes are expected for Sunday 17 June for the IRONMAN event which starts at 09:00. In addition to the sporting event, which offers a show out of the ordinary, a multitude of entertainments will be held on site.

The triathlon is being organised at the crossroads of three countries in the east of Luxembourg - an area that is today known worldwide, thanks to the Schengen Treaty, an agreement signed in 1985 and which undeniably marks the history of Europe.

Remich is both the starting point for the swimming, cycling and running transition zones as well as the finish area.

It is fascinating to observe the 1.9 km swimming section in the Moselle, constituting the natural border between Germany and Luxembourg. The race for the 90 km bike race continues along the Moselle from Remich to Grevenmacher:after half a lap, the athletes return to Remich. In Stadtbredimus, a climb leads the sportsmen into the hills overlooking the Moselle. Finally, the course continues on French territory and returns by Schengen to finish at Remich, where the running race of 21.1 km starts. It consists of 4 laps at the edge of the Moselle before finishing in the middle of Remich at the Place Dr Fernand Kons.
