LuxFLAG Breakfast Seminar to Address How Digitalisation Shapes Inclusive Finance

LuxFLAG’s next breakfast seminar will take place under the topic ‘How digitalisation shapes inclusive finance’, hosted by InFiNe at the House of Microfinance (39 rue Glesener, L-1631 Luxembourg-ville) on 1 March 2018.

Professor Dr. Dirk Zetzsche, Holder of the ADA Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance) at the University of Luxembourg, and David Yen, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at BitPesa, will address the seminar.

Digital financial services have proven that they foster life-changing impact by overcoming traditional banking barriers and thereby providing unbanked individuals as well as Small and Medium Enterprises with profoundly needed financial services. Global trends towards digitalisation bring new opportunities to inclusive finance with new players entering the market who leverage data through innovative technology. Challenges lie in setting up a healthy regulatory environment that enables financial inclusion and at the same time ensures an effective risk management and consumer protection.

The session will give an overview of who these new market players are, the opportunities and regulatory challenges of data-driven finance and addresses how digitalisation impacts growth of inclusive finance.
