On Friday 28 October 2016, Luxembourg’s Minister of Housing, Marc Hansen, attended the first sods of three residences of the Société Nationale des Habitations à Bon Marché (SNHBM) in Lamadelaine.

The beginning of works on these residences forms part of the project “An den Atzéngen”, which is being carried out in collaboration with the municipality of Pétange. The residences are Alesia, Ebora and Larina, the former two of which encompass 11 apartments each, and the latter of which has nine.

The Pétange municipality was in possession of approximately 4.6 hectares of land in Lamadelaine, in the area known as “Op Aker”. In order to guarantee a better social mix in this project, the municipality gave half of this land to SNHBM.

The association is planning the construction of three residences and 51 one-family houses on the site. The housing will be sold in a finished state, but without the kitchen’s interior design or interior painting. The group of apartments and houses will be built in accordance with the criteria for buildings (energy class A).
