On 7 June at the Data Cloud Europe evevnt in Monaco, EBRC was awarded the "EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres Award 2016" by the European Commission.

Since 2010, EBRC is associated with the "European Code of Conduct for Data Centres" programme of the European Commission which supports best practices in energy efficiency of data centres in Europe.

Bruno Fery, Head of Data Centre Services at EBRC, has, since 2010, led an innovative programme involving teams and external experts to reduce the carbon footprint of five EBRC Data Centres (17,000 m2 of net IT surface).

"For each data centre, we aim for continuous improvement of the operational management of our energy systems as part of our 'Energy Savings Program and our ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. By using 100% green electricity from hydropower, EBRC has reduced emissions by more than 10,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. We are pleased to receive this prestigious European award, which recognises the work of our teams and our experts," commented Bruno Fery.

"As an IT service company and operator of data centres, we are in the heart of the digital transformation. EBRC supports the most ambitious programmes of the European Union and in particular those relating to the protection of our environment. This "green IT" commitment is part of our culture and our ​​E.A.R.T.H. (Excellence, Agility, Responsibility, Human) values," he continued.

"Corporate Social Responsibility" commitment is becoming increasingly important for customers to EBRC. This is the company chosen by EURid, the ".eu" domain names manager which operates its European operations from the EBRC infrastructure.

At the end of 2015, the CEO of EURid justified his choice: "Not only has EBRC impressed us with a level of quality, security and resilience with Tier IV certified facilities at the Fault-Tolerant Constructed Facility, but in addition we benefit socially responsible procedures that perfectly match our ongoing commitment to quality and excellence."
