Earlier today, Friday 31 August 2018, the Ville de Luxembourg and the International Committee of the festivities of the Schueberfouer asbl had organised the "Day of Solidarity" within the framework of the Schueberfouer 2018.

From 15:00 to 17:15, members of the city council were present near the ferris wheel and the Schueberfouer entry portal to sell various gadgets and other objects related to the carnival: t-shirts, stuffed animals, Schueberfouer mascots, porcelain plates with the image of Jean l’Aveugle (John the Blind), special edition 670th Schueberfouer brochures and gingerbread hearts, etc.

As a result of this action, the sum of €1,440 was collected, a sum which the International Committee for the festivities of Schueberfouer asbl added €1,000. At 17:30, the Ville de Luxembourg and the Committee presented a total of €2,440 to two associations working in the social domain: Inter-Actions, which works to improve the living conditions of socially disadvantaged people through setting up multiple projects for all ages (www.inter-actions.lu); and Wäertvollt Liewen, which is committed to setting up a national reference and competence network for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or a similar pathology (www.waertvollt-liewen.lu).

On 14 September 2018, the organisation is organising an international symposium at the Abbaye de Neumünster in Luxembourg-Grund on Ethics and Social Responsibility in the Treatment of Chronic Patients in the Acute Phase, entitled "... and if it was me?", registration up to 31.8.2018.
