Intertrust Luxembourg has raised €6,000 for the SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde project supporting young people from Entebbe in Uganda.

On 22 March 2019, Intertrust Luxembourg presented a cheque for €6,000 to the Director of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, Sophie Glesener, and the Partnerships Manager, Anne Schweizer. This amount, raised as a result of various initiatives in 2018, will contribute to the installation of solar panels at the SOS Children's Village Entebbe in Uganda, a project supported by the Luxembourg association since its Uganda Challenge in February 2019.

Sophie Glesener and Anne Schweizer thanked the management and staff of Intertrust Luxembourg: "This generous donation reinforces our beautiful partnership around education. In Uganda, even though many children are in primary school, many, especially girls, have to give up quickly while their parents cannot afford to pay school fees."

Regarding the solar panel project itself, this affordable and clean source of energy will ensure continuous power in the SOS Children's Village Entebbe, which can accommodate up to 150 children in twelve family houses and up to 200 children in the adjoining play school. It will also enable young people to continue studying in good conditions.
