The 23rd annual Duck Race is set to take place on Saturday 20 April 2024 on the Neimënster square in Luxembourg-Grund from 12:00 to 18:00.

The Duck Race, a traditional event organised by the Luxembourg Round Table under the patronage of the City of Luxembourg, will take place under the slogan “Green event”, including an “AntiGaspi” label. This year, the Luxembourg association “Rainforest” will organise a compensation project, making the event CO2 neutral.

The entertainment programme for children and adults and catering will begin at noon. At 15:00, 16,000 rubber ducks will be launched into the River Alzette for their annual race.

This year, the profits from the day will be donated to “Passerell”, a Luxembourg association active in the defence and exercise of the rights of applicants, beneficiaries and rejected asylum seekers, to the “Stärekanner” association, which offers its services to capture brief and precious moments shared during the birth of a deceased child in photos, at “De Leederwon”, which offers individuals or groups of all ages, with or without disabilities, a change from everyday life by practicing horse-drawn carriage riding, as well as the “Wonschstär” foundation, whose aim is to make dreams come true for seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged people.

Anyone wishing to support an altruistic project and participate in this charitable lottery can sponsor one or more ducks, available for pre-sale at the price of €5 on www.duckrace.lu or the same day on the Duck Race website. All ducks have a number that corresponds to a lottery ticket number. The "patrons" of the ducks who cross the finish line first will receive one of the many prizes offered by the sponsors, such as trips, vouchers, dinners and more. This year, the first prize is a Volkswagen T-CROSS.
